Debt collectors are continuing to go to extreme measures to collect on consumer debts. The FTC had over 45,000 complaints about debt collection harassment just in the first 6 months of this year!Some of these agencies will open up shop with a PO Box (no physical address), make tons of really abusive calls, make as much money as they possibly can by scaring and harassing consumers, close up shop (before they get sued or caught) and take off!!!
That is why it is very important to learn your rights and understand when debt collectors violate the law under the FDCPA. When this happens, take a stand and fight back before another collection agency packs up his shop and runs with your money.
