Haunted and harassed by old debts?
There is a fast growing industry that may have an impact on you. Debt collectors have been purchasing old debts for pennies on the dollar.Rachel fell into financial trouble in 1990 when she went through a painful divorce. She was unable to pay one of her credit cards. The balance was approximately $2,300. Eventually the credit card debt was charged off. In the fall of 2005, Rachel started receiving harassing calls from a debt collector stating she had to pay the $2,300 balance plus interest or they were going to sue her.
