Q: Under the FDCPA, it states that a debt collector cannot disclose a debt to a third party.  Who is considered a third party?

A: Third party:

A "third party" is any person other than you, your attorney, a consumer reporting agency (such as TransUnion, Experian and Equifax) if otherwise permitted by law, the creditor, the attorney of the creditor, or the attorney of the debt collector.  Common "third party" communications that take place are between the debt collector and your neighbors, co-workers, parents, relatives and employers.
